Fall is upon us once again. It is almost hard to believe because it seems like fall came a lot sooner than normal…perhaps it is because Thanksgiving was earlier than when we usually expect it. Regardless, this year was definitely a different one for myself and my family, and I am sure for you as well. I mentioned to my Aunt after we took some family photos that if you would have told me my life would look like how it does four years ago, I would have said you were crazy. But in the past four years we have; welcomed Skye into our family, said goodbye first to my Grandma, then my Mom, and lastly said “hello” to our little Ezra. That is a lot to process. I am sure you have similar stories and changes in your life as well.
Even though, when looking back there are a lot of good sprinkled with some bad, I have to say I am thankful. I am thankful, because I do not know what the next four to five years will bring. I am hopeful, but I am thankful for being able to experience my “right now”. It has been said that most of us either live in regret, or disappointment from what is in the past, or are caught up in the “what will be” for the future. All the while missing out on all the blessings that we have right now. Simply put, you will never get right now back again.
Each and every one of us has goals and dreams. Things that get us excited. Things that make us happy. Are you doing them? Awesome if you are. If you are not, why not take time now, to do that first step. The problem is, because our head is either too far behind us, or way out in the future. We miss the small opportunities that are necessary to reach those goals. It may be getting fitter, going on a trip or spending time with family. So what are you going to do right now? Figure that out and take that step. That way, in four to five years, you will happily look back and see all the awesome things you’ve done, and relish in the fact you did not waste the “now” that you were given.
One thing most people neglect when living their goals and dreams, is being thankful for a healthy nervous system. If you are seeing a chiropractor, keep it up. If you are not, you need to get checked for subluxation. If you are in the Newmarket, Aurora or surrounding areas, come in for a visit to see our facility and meet our staff. Start your thankful journey today.
